Look Great With Hair Designs for Short Hair

By Sarah H Many women consider their hair to be their crowning glory, and many women still carry the idea that to be a woman you must have long flowing hair. Well times certainly have changed, and more and more women are realizing the beauty of shorter cuts and the manageability of them too. Women today are always on the go and with time constraints peering over their shoulders the last thing they need is a bad hair day or spending thirty minutes every morning trying to look presentable. And that is exactly why short cut hair continues to increase in popularity. Now dont think that short hair means having no hair at all. Actually it is quite the opposite, especially for women with fine or thinning hair as shorter cuts can make hair look fuller and healthier. But whatever your reason for going short, the fact is that you have numerous options to choose from! But before choosing a short hairstyle for yourself, find out what your facial shape is and look at various short cuts on people with a similar shape of face as yours. So here are some of the more popular hair designs for short hair. The Gamine Cut; a gamine crop cut looks youthful with feathery layers directed forward onto the forehead. A short layered boyish short crop with a tapered nape is very adorable and a perfect way to wear straight hair. And dont underestimate the use of color and highlights that can really give a gamine crop cut an exquisite touch of intense class. The Angled Bob; if you really want to make a statement, an angled bob with a shorn elevated nape is the perfect look. This buzzed nape look will certainly get you noticed! You can of course also opt for a sweet classic hairstyle and enhance it with contrasting colors. A face framing short bob with bangs can be very flattering and sexy. The Daring Pixie Cut; when you are ready for an ultra short hair cut, then a pixie style might be just what you need. Wear it spiked or get some length through the top for a ruffled look. Add styling gel for a stunningly, bold look. The Tapered Bob; a tapered bob with short bangs and fringy layers can be very charming. Light layering at the ends gives the hair extra swing. A couple of shorter pieces of hair around the face and a slightly angled neckline will make a bob hairstyle sophisticated. No matter what type of short hair design you decide to go with, just remember that short hair can be chic and sexy once you have the confidence to pull off the short cut. And dont forget that jewelry, make-up and other accessories can add more life to any short design. Get A Facial Sauna For A Fabulous Face

By Ron King Among the many benefits of sauna and steam baths are the skin toning properties. The result is skin that is soft, supple and glowing; in short, beautiful. Regular sauna and steam bath users have a pleasing, healthy glow that enhances their attractiveness. Mini-saunas are designed to apply steam directly to the face. They offer the same deep-cleaning action as a full sauna or steam bath does, only as a quick facial fix-up. While the best skin toning benefits come from a full-body sauna, a facial sauna system can produce results almost as good. Sauna and steam are healthy for the skin because of the deep-cleaning action caused by heavy perspiration. All the accumulated dirt can easily wash out when the pores are opened wide. How They Work A facial sauna has an electric heating element at the bottom of the unit that heats water held in a small reservoir. Once the water reaches the boiling point, steam begins to rise. A small reservoir ensures that steam is produced quickly. An ergonomically designed mask is positioned over the reservoir, funneling the steam directly to your face. To control the amount of steam, just move your face back from the mask. To get maximum deep cleaning action, bring your face into direct contact with the mask. This position should be held briefly. Every 10 seconds, raise your head to allow cooler air to mix with the steam. Repeat the cycle as often as you wish. Facial saunas are also useful for unclogging stuffed sinuses. Anything from a simple cold to more serious conditions such as bronchitis, sinusitis, asthma, and hay fever may be improved by using a facial sauna as an inhaler or vaporizer. Some facial saunas have a detachable inhaler. Rather than fitting over the entire face, it fits directly over the nose and mouth. Simply breathe in the steam to relieve sinus pain almost immediately. Operating Tips Most facial saunas have a very small reservoir, so the water can heat up fast. The downside is that the water evaporates quickly. So, if you wish to use the sauna for an extended session, you should keep a tall glass of water by your side. This way you can quickly refill the reservoir when it goes dry. Steam is great for deep cleaning the skin, but for an additional beauty treatment you can add special cleaners such as tea tree oil to the water. Just a few drops of this oil will give your skin an even brighter glow and leave it feeling fresh and supple. Facial saunas are affordable for almost any budget, usually costing less than $60. So now everyone can enjoy the deep-cleaning action of a facial sauna and have ‘glowing’ skin. Ron King is a full-time researcher, writer, and web developer. 5 Easy Steps to Help You Lose Weight

By Amie Gerlowski When losing weight, most of us don’t have the time to drastically change our lifestyles. We need a practical and convenient way to integrate effective habits into our daily lives. The following steps are easy and practical ways to get you on the track to loosing weight and feeling better. 1. Drink Water! Water doesn’t just help quench your thirst. All metabolic processes within the body utilize H2O and drinking plenty of it helps your body function optimally. It also helps you feel your best—many of the common daily headaches and fatigues we experience can result from a lack of water intake. 2. Eat Breakfast! Many Americans fail to realize the true value of a morning meal. It not only boosts energy for the long day ahead, but keeps your metabolism regulated. Skipping a meal can put the body into “survival mode” which means that it actually begins storing and saving fat as opposed to burning it. 3. Exercise! There is no easy way around it: successful and sustained weight loss requires a commitment to physical activity. The best way to be loyal to physical activity is to work it into each day. Take a small part of each day to go for a walk, do aerobics, do yoga, or whatever other type of activity you enjoy. Mix it up so that you don’t get bored with it. Soon, you will not only get used to it, but you will feel better too! 4. Choose Variety! Don’t let popular dieting trends fool you: Carbs are good for you too! In fact, carbohydrates are what your brain run on and are very important for proper body functions. Following a high-protein diet over a long period of time can not only cause headaches, but also places considerable stress on the kidney. The important thing is to eat a variety of foods. This includes fruits, vegetables and even carbs. Just remember to be smart about the types of carbs you eat:: whole wheat instead of white. 5. Eat Slowly! We all get in a hurry from time to time, but it is important to take the time to listen to our bodies. Eating quickly doesn’t give our bodies time to tell our brains that we have eaten enough. Consequently, we continue eating and are left filling stuffed and bloated. Eating more slowly allows us to recognize when we actually have eaten enough and stopit also helps us savour and enjoy the food we do eat. Essential to losing weight is giving our bodies what they need. This means drinking plenty of water, eating timely and proper meals, staying active, and giving our body the time to tell us when it is full. Our bodies will reward us for our attention. Customers Are Like Vampires

By Cathy Stucker No, customers aren’t bloodsuckers (well, maybe a few are!) and they don’t come out only at night. According to legend, vampires don’t come in until they are invited. And that’s true of customers, too. You may think you’ve invited your customers. After all, you put up signs identifying your store, got a web site, placed ads, sent press releases, networked, put out fliers, etc. Those things can let your customers know you exist, but to be effective they should include invitations to customers. That doesn’t mean sending actual invitations, it means creating a reason for them to come, and communicating that reason to them. We’re talking about giving customers a ‘call to action’. First, make sure you know what you want them to do. Do you want them to contact you for more information, pay a visit, make a first purchase, make larger or more frequent purchases? Once you know what results you want, you can tailor a call to action which inspires that reaction. Are you trying to build traffic at your physical or online location? Your communication might focus more on reasons for people to visit, and less on buying. Have traffic that you’re trying to convert to sales? Encourage them to make a purchase by offering a limited-time discount, or something free with a purchase. Offer a guarantee. Want business from customers you haven’t seen in a while? Entice them. Let them know what’s new. A hair salon changed ownership, and there were problems. Most of the stylists left, service was spotty, and lots of customers quit using them, including me. I got a postcard inviting me to come back and see the changes they made. While not saying, ‘Yeah, we stunk, but now we’re better,’ they told about their new amenities and offered me a special price on my next visit. I went, and was impressed. I’ll go back. They recovered a lost customer by inviting me to come back. Here are a few more examples of calls to action: Hold an event, such as an open house, seminar or product demonstration, to encourage people to come at a specific time. Send out coupons with an expiration date to create a sense of urgency. Give something away to people who visit or contact you. Institute a frequent buyer club. For example, after I get my dog groomed six times, the seventh groom is free. It keeps me coming back to the same place. Encourage customers to invite their friends to do business with you. After all, an invitation from a trusted friend is great incentive. Reward both the customer and the friend–give them each a small gift, or have special ‘two-fer’ pricing giving a discount. Don’t leave your customers wandering around aimlessly–invite them in! Copyright Cathy Stucker. How Love Dies: Spot the Symptoms Now, and Get Your Love Back on Track

By Steve Ubah Are you starting to feel that your man has changed so much, in a negative way, that your relationship is starting to die a slow death? In this article I will shed some light on the kinds of things men do when they want to extinguish the flame that sizzles their love. I will also give you some some ideas on how you can reignite the fire in your relationship. Here are some to the signs to look out for: His love for you is losing its life-blood, if you find that, most of the time, he behaves in the following ways: 1. He no longer makes time to spend with you on a weekly basis. 2. He prefers to go out with his friends than take you out. 3. He is easily annoyed by things that never bothered him in the past. 4. He finds it difficult to tell you he loves you. 5. He constantly talks about how fat you are. 6. He talks down to you. 7. He has started being dissatisfied with things you do for him. 8. He prefers to work extra hours so he will have less time to spend with you. 9. He has stopped doing you any favors. 10. He has told you that perhaps both of you should slow things down a bit. 11. He encourages you to go out and have fun without him. 12. He forgets your birthdays or anniversaries and makes no effort to buy you gifts. 13. He laughs out loud when he talks to his friends or family members, and never laughs out loud with you. 14. He flirts openly with other women in your presence. 15. He has started comparing you to other women in terms of how you should look or behave. 16. He doesnt really care about sleeping with you in the same bed. 17. He seems to have lost interest in making love with you. 18. You are starting to find telephone numbers of other women in his wallet or clothes. 19.He has started staying out overnight when he goes out on weekends. 20. He has started lying about where he has been and who hes been with. Bear in mind that your relationship is not necessarily dying, if your guy does just one of these things just once. However, if he indulges in any of these behaviors frequently over time, then you have cause to worry. Whats most important is how your guy reacts when you bring this behavior to his attention. Does he apologize and promise to make a change, or does he just not care about your feelings? If he apologizes and seems to show some remorse, then you know you have a good chance at resurrecting your love again, and here are some things you can do: Start with yourself. Start doing those things that show that you can still go on even if he decides to leave. Get in shape It is possible that your mates comments about your weight gain could actually be true. Make sure you always look your best - Do your hair and nails, and be sure to put your make up on. Read books that will boost your self-esteem and self-image. Start doing things with your friends and family members. When your man sees that you are not sitting home pouting, and that you are actually going out and having fun, he realizes that he is not necessarily the only thing going on in your life. Have a talk with him about how he has changed and how that change has impacted your relationship. Your goal here is to find out what exactly is bugging him, and once you do, you are now equipped with what the problem is and you are able to map out some solutions. Indulge in a romantic candlelight dinner for two at home. Take an overnight trip out of town, and be sure to stay in a good hotel. Go see some sights together, and take some pictures. Take a cruise to an exotic place the islands or wherever youve both been dying to see. If your efforts dont seem to be changing things, ask your mate if he is open to seeing a relationship counselor. If all else fails and your guy is hell-bent on letting his love for you slip away, at least you werent sitting around doing nothing. You were taking care of yourself and improving your self-esteem, having fun with your friends and these are things that men find attractive in a woman. Good luck. Inexpensive Ways To Market Your Photography Business

By Cindy Bracken You do not need a huge marketing budget to effectively market your photography business. Here are a few low-cost ways to get started: 1. Display your work. This is one of the best ways to market your business. Approach stores, doctors offices, dentist offices, florists, wedding shops, childrens boutiques and toy stores, maternity shops, etc. about displaying your work in their place of business. They may be willing to rent you a space, or supply the space free of charge in exchange for some photographic work. They may also offer the space free of charge if you also agree to market their business in some way. Bring along your portfolio when you make the initial contact, so that the business owner may see your work. Malls are another good place for a displayin most cases you will have to pay for the space, so contact your local mall for more info. Along with each display, make sure you leave business cards or brochures for potential clients to pick up. 2. Organize a charitable photo event. Examples of this are free pet portraits at the local humane society, free senior portraits for kids at a local group home or shelter, a portrait event at a local hospital, etc. Use your imagination and you can come up with some good ones. Make sure to send a press release about the event to your newspaper or television station. 3. Leave and give out business cards EVERYWHERE! Make sure you keep a good supply of business cards handy, and leave them everywhere you go. The library, the grocery store shopping cart, local restaurants, etc. If you arent shy, hand them out to moms shopping with their kids. Hand them out to pregnant women if you do maternity photography. Leave them on car windshields at the park. You get the idea! 4. Offer free sessions and one 8×10 as a prize or giveaway. You can do this by becoming a sponsor of any local contests. Radio stations, banks, and schools are good contacts for this sort of thing. 5. Include a sheet of wallets with every client order. On them, print a great image from their session, along with your business name and contact info. The clients will be happy to give these away since they can show off their portrait and they act as business cards for you. 6. Enlist seniors at your local high school to advertise for you. Give them a free senior portrait session and some free prints in exchange for them giving out your business cards and showing off their portraits to their friends. A nice 4×6 album full of their images is inexpensive and easy for them to carry. Cindy Bracken is the founder of http://www.shuttermom.com, an online community for photographers of all levels. Weight Loss Begins from the Neck Up, in Your Mind - How to Think Like a Naturally Thin Person

By Rosa Smith-Montanaro Thoughts are powerful, they are a reflection of the quality of your life. If you want to make a change in your life, then you first have to change what is being said in your mind. Every single thought causes a reaction in the body. Think about a lemon, imagine biting into a wedge of a ripe lemon and tasting the sour, tangy juice. Notice the salvia forming in your mouth right now? We call this a psycho somatic response. It is when the body reactions to the minds thoughts. There have been numerous studies on this topic including the respected field of psychoneuroimmuology. The mind and the body are interdependent, they respond to each other. What is the difference between a naturally thin person and a chronic dieter? A naturally thin person might have a higher metabolism. Usually not that much higher, observe them around food you will see something else. You will notice that naturally thin people have a different perspective of the role that food plays in their lives. There are limited things you can do to change your biogenetics, but there is an area you have total control over. You are in control of your mind. More precisely you are in control of your thoughts. At any given moment you have thousands of opportunities to think healthy thoughts, do you? Or are you think limiting, disempowering, self defeating thoughts? I have found as a weight loss coach that the issue in weight management is mind management. Manage how you think and you will manage your weight. What if it is that simple? What if just by changing the way you think you could lose weight? If this statement intrigues you, become curious and ask yourself how does a naturally thin person think? There is a recipe for thinking thin, here are patterns that naturally thin people have in common. One common theme is naturally thin people see themselves in a thin body. They imagine how they will look in an outfit. They also reinforce this by speaking to themselves in positive ways to encourage this image. When you use your imagination, you activate the unconscious mind. It will act on what you think about most. Naturally thin people imagine their clothes sliding on, or being loose. Start to think like a thin person by envisioning yourself looking healthy and fit, then ask yourself what would it be like to live in this body? Get excited about the possibility and say to yourself nothing tastes as good as a fit body feels. Another distinction is a naturally thin person will only eat when their body indicates it is hungry. They use food to eliminate the hunger pain. Food is a source of fuel, not comfort. Children do this all of the time, they will beg you for food, and then they will take a few bites and announce I am finished. Chronic dieters have been brainwashed to think they have to clean their plates. We call this an empty habit. It is a result of repeating the same act until it becomes an unconscious habit. The difference is naturally thin people developed the habit to stop the moment they are satisfied not full. The food on the plate has nothing to do with being finished. Chronic dieters think: I cant waste food. Think like a naturally thin person and say to yourself: No way, I will feel sick if I eat all of that food. Naturally thin people stay thin because their comfort zone in regards to their weight is very close to their ideal weight. If they gain a few pounds a red flag goes up and they cut back until their weight returns to normal. They are aware of their bodies. As you lose weight, change your comfort zone to not exceed it by a few pounds. Naturally thin people move more than the average person. If you watch them they walk fast, take the stairs, park further. Lifestyle movement adds up quickly. Find opportunities to move. Weight management is a lifestyle not an event; naturally thin people dont live to eat, they eat to live. They dont say forget it this isnt working I quit. They eat foods that give them energy and take away the hungry feeling so they can return to what they were doing before they felt hungry. Take the time to think like a thin person and see how your body changes. It may not be the fastest way to lose weight, but it will last a lifetime. Tools for Raking and Cultivating

By Robert Gettle With its short rigid tines a bow rake is excellent for leveling a bed after digging it up with a shovel or garden fork. Bow rakes will also remove stones and debris from the soil. Just as its name implies a leaf rate is used for removing leaves, grass clippings, pine needles, and other debris from your lawn and garden bed. A thatching rake has crescent shaped blades that you push and pull through the lawn to remove dead grass known as thatch. If you take only one hand tool to the garden it should be a hoe and cultivator combination, use the fork as a cultivator then turn it over in use it as a hoe. Its strength and balance make it a popular garden tool. A weeder or as it is sometimes called a dandelion weeder is used to remove individual weeds in garden beds or in the lawn. Basically a weeder that has a wooden or plastic handle attached to a metal shaft about a foot long with a sharp pointed or forked tip. To use it you plunge the tip into the soil to disturb the ground around the weed so it can be removed. A small hand-held tool with three prongs is called a cultivator. This device can be used to mix fertilizer into the soil or to weed in small confined areas such as a container or raised garden bed. There are also long handle cultivators for working the soil while standing. The thin high tensile stainless steel blades of the weed eraser slices effortlessly through packed soil, cutting weed roots off underground. Great for any garden bed, it is especially handy for weeding tight spaces like planters, window boxes, raised beds and between rows. the large opening leaves soil in place. It’s efficient design will allow you to cultivate around existing plants and not damage their roots. Reflections on a Difficult Gospel Passage: Forgive Us Our Debts

By Saundra L. Washington Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. Matthew 6:12. The petition of our Lords Prayer at first glance seem to intimate that the pardoning of our sins is predicated on our pardoning those who have sinned against us. Yet, we have the uneasy feeling that this certainly cannot be so. It is inconceivable that God would have a need to bargain with us. Rather, it is less problematic if we understood this passage to mean that our forgiveness is a necessary condition of our ability to receive Gods forgiveness. If we allow egotism to envelop our hearts and minds with prideful thoughts that focus on the sins of others (which is most often the case), we thereby render ourselves incapable of recognizing our own sins and hence, completely block the forgiving mercy of God. Jesus directs our attention first to our own sins. This order is significant. After all, the faults we see in others are also in us in one form or another. The main point is, if we are willing and able to pardon our offenders, then we will also be able to receive Gods pardon. Robert Stein concurs that the as in the petition should not be misconstrued to mean that God forgives us to the same degree that we forgive others. He points out that no believer praying this prayer is sinned against by others as greatly as he sins against God. Certainly this is true, but Barclay advocates a more liberal view. According to William Barclay, this petition to mean that our sins are forgiven in proportion as we forgive those who have sinned against us. He maintains that if we pray this prayer with an unsettled quarrel in our lives, we are virtually asking God to not forgive us. To be forgiven, Barclay claims, We must forgive and that is a condition for forgiveness which only the power of Christ can enable us to fulfill. Karl Barth, on the other hand, is disposed to reject Barclays idea that human forgiveness is a condition of Gods forgiveness. He treats this petition as a criterion necessary for our comprehending Gods forgiveness. Insisting that Gods pardon has already been granted even before we ask, Barth points out that the hope one entertains for oneself necessarily opens the hart, the feeling, and the judgment, in respect to others. It seems that Barths interpretation is, in fact, the reverse of mine. Whereas I maintain that the believer must be free of the spirit of un-forgiveness in order to be open to receive Gods pardon, Barth contends that when the pardon of God is received by the believer, it enables us to forgive. I think Barth makes a good point too when he indicates that the pardon of God is something that occurs at the divine level and a comparison cannot be drawn with what happens on the human level. I would be egregiously remiss if I failed to include Steins raising the question of which comes first: believers forgiving others and as a result, God forgives them; or God forgives believers and as a result, believers forgive others; or is our forgiving contemporaneous with Gods forgiveness? These are relevant and crucial questions that must be given careful contemplation and examination. Though all of our (and others) interpretations differ at several points, we seem to generally agree that forgiveness and forgiving are intrinsically connected. Pardon is inevitably linked both to God and to ones fellow sinner. Rev. Saundra L. Washington, D.D., is an ordained clergywoman, veteran social worker, and Founder of AMEN Ministries.
